Boot Camp Heroes
These are the people that inspire us to do what we do, to continue working hard to get this out there when we are tired an weak. Thank you everyone on this page for doing what you do.
Rocky Balboa |
|
In 1976, in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, an unknown boxer named Rocky Balboa was given a shot at the title. People thought it was crazy, didn't think he had a chance. He trained night and day, wouldn't give up and fought with all his heart to do what he set out to do. He inspired millions with his spirit and drive. This was a movie. Sylvester Stallone wrote that movie. He spent night and day writing it. Against all odds he got an offer from a big movie company. They wanted to buy the movie and have someone play Rocky Balboa. He turned it down. It wasn't about the money. He put his heart and soul into this and he said he would play Rocky Balboa or no one would. Boot Camps With a Purpose was started with one location, slowly grew to two, three, then more and more. Good people giving their time and expertise to help people get in shape, then give all the money raised away. Some people didn't understand why you would do something without pay. To some it made the most sense out of anything they had ever done. The feeling of happiness that comes from giving of oneself to help others is what fuels BCWAP. Now BCWAP is helping good causes all over the world and continues to grow. It started as a dream. The dream is real. |

Terry Fox |
|
| Canadian Terry Fox lost his leg to Cancer. He pledged to run across Canada to raise money for cancer research. They said it would be an accomplishment just to walk. He set his mind to a goal and accomplished it, inspiring the nation, running across the entire country raising money to help others. We admire Terry's commitment, hard work, dedication and sacrifice to make a difference. | |
Martin Luther King |
|
| Martin Luther King worked tirelesly to make the world a better place and to help people gain equal rights in America. We dream of every city and town having a BCWAP, bringing people together no matter what color of skin, ethnicity, background or religion. | |
